When we are growing up we do not forsee a life that is plagued by mental health. It is only when we learn that other family members have had the same thing happen to them. And it is with this that we learn about our selves.
If a family member had some form of mental health, and you are born after the fact, then you could pose as one that has this also.
Why is society deemed as one that needs assurance that if you become unwell that you pose as no risk to them. But could you pose a risk on your self.
This could be the fact that if you have never had any voices within, and you could not cope with them without specialists help. As you may only need these if it becomes unbearable. That you could try and commit suicide.
This is no way to live your life and if you do find that you are hearing voices that you should go to a specialist either by visiting your GP in person and and asking for further help.
We do not know when we will become ill, so it is a precaution when we do.
You may spend some time in an institution but this is good as you will be monitored daily and hourly.
I have had 3-5 institutions from a period of 11 years.
But each time I went in voluntarily as I knew that I would only be spending the minimum time possible there.
It is when you are sectioned and this is done via a psychiatric assessment that a doctor will do. They will either have you detained for 6 months to a year. Some people need longer as they have no luck in trying to get better. But know this. You will not have any visitors and you will not be able to go outside.
But once you see changes in the way you are living, meaning not hearing voices and are on the medication that is prescribed, either via tablets or injections, that you should not miss this as you may fall back into the same state that you were in before you were medicated.
